Position Opportunity:
We are seeking talented and experienced R&D Food Scientists to join our growing and sensational Product Development Team as a Co-Founder. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to join an exciting new startup where it's not investors that get early equity stakes, but the team members who do the work to launch and grow the company. This role is for EQUITY only in the first few months. Sometime in mid 2025, Co-Founder roles will convert over to traditional salaried positions, plus you keep all of the equity as an owner that you earned up to that point. You will have the option to start either part time or full time, whatever you are able to commit to.
Job Summary:
As a R&D Food Scientist at LiveComplete, you will be part of a dynamic remote team that performs research and development (R&D), laboratory work, sensory evaluation, ingredient sourcing and cost analysis. The R&D Food Scientist will be responsible for creating unique and innovative foods that replace animal-based products, with indistinguishable taste and texture. Through your experiences, you have amassed incredible knowledge of replicating animal-based products with plant-based replacements.
Qualifications:
- Sensory Evaluation and Food Science skills
- Research and Development (R&D) experience
- Laboratory Skills and Food Technology knowledge
- Understanding of food chemistry and flavor interactions
- Passion for creating exceptional food experiences
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting
- Collaborates with other R&D team members to develop products that match targeted consumer preferences.
- Collaborates with other departments and cross site team members: Sales, Procurement, Regulatory
- Follows safety, quality, and GMP policies.
- Accurately compounds a broad range of experimental formulas with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- You have your own workbench at home
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field
- 3 to 5 years of formula compounding experience in our specific industry as a Food Scientist or Lab Technician
- Knowledge of organic chemistry, principles of food science, and good laboratory practices.
- Experience working in a commercial laboratory.
- Experience using laboratory equipment for liquid transfer, measuring, and mixing.
