Job Summary
The Senior QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications by leading testing efforts, designing test plans, writing test scripts, and executing tests. This role involves collaboration with development teams to identify issues early, conducting both manual and automated tests, and ensuring that products meet or exceed the required quality standards before release.
What you’ll do:
- Test Planning & Strategy: Lead the creation of test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases. Ensure the testing process addresses performance, scalability, security, and data accuracy requirements, especially for high-volume financial data and document processing systems.
- End-to-End Testing: Execute functional, regression, integration, and acceptance tests on core platforms, ensuring that complex financial calculations, data aggregations, and document processing features meet specifications.
- Test Automation: Design and implement automated testing frameworks for complex workflows using tools such as Selenium, Appium, RestAssured, or similar. Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Performance & Scalability Testing: Conduct load, stress, and performance testing on high-traffic financial applications to ensure they can handle large datasets and high throughput, particularly focusing on real-time data processing and large document volumes.
- API Testing: Test and validate APIs for data exchange, integration, and document processing, ensuring smooth communication between different internal and third-party services. Use tools like Postman, SoapUI, or custom automation scripts.
- Defect Management: Identify, report, and track defects using tools like Jira. Collaborate with development teams to analyze root causes, resolve issues, and verify defect fixes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, business analysts, and data engineers to understand requirements and ensure high-quality standards across the product development lifecycle.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain test case documentation, test results, and bug reports. Provide clear and concise communication on testing progress, risks, and quality metrics to stakeholders.
- Quality Metrics & Reporting: Track and report key QA metrics (defect density, test coverage, etc.) and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a proven track record of testing complex systems in both agile and waterfall environments.
- Automation Expertise: Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks like Selenium, RestAssured, Appium, or TestNG. Experience with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.) is crucial.
- Performance Testing: Hands-on experience with load testing, stress testing, and scalability testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, or similar. Experience working with large datasets and performance bottleneck analysis.
- API Testing: Strong experience with API testing, including RESTful services and SOAP, using tools like Postman, Swagger, or custom automation tools.
- Database & SQL: Solid knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) for data verification, ensuring accuracy in data processing, aggregation, and retrieval.
- Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile environments with knowledge of Scrum or Kanban processes. Comfortable with continuous iteration and rapid deployment cycles.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and thorough testing across diverse data sets, especially when it comes to ensuring accuracy in financial calculations, reports, and document data extraction.
- Cloud/Virtualization: Familiarity with cloud-based applications, microservices, and containerized environments (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker) is a plus.
Good to have:
- Has QA experience of financial technology platforms or document automation systems. Experience with financial data aggregation, data processing systems, or document processing platforms is highly desirable.
- SaaS software QA experience will be a bonus point for us.
- Security testing knowledge would be good to have
