The Open Source Development Team
The Open Source Development team works on open source libraries and tools that are part of the OpenZeppelin product family. Our work on open source is funded by leading L1s and L2s, including EVM and non-EVM platforms, leading protocols, and the Ethereum Foundation. This section of our development department is responsible for widely adopted products, including OpenZeppelin Contracts, Wizard, and Defender, as well as products for leading and emerging developer ecosystems.
What you'll be doing
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Open Source Development Manager. Reporting directly to the CTO, this exciting role will specifically manage the open source development work OpenZeppelin does for leading and emerging developer ecosystems, such as Polkadot, Stellar, and Midnight.
In addition to managing multiple small teams of developers working on these libraries and tools, you will be responsible for project management, efficiency, quality of delivery, security, and all aspects of people management, including performance management and hiring. You will also work with the developers and ecosystem teams, as well as other internal OpenZeppelin stakeholders, to coordinate development plans and establish/track processes for quality and security.
Your responsibilities:
- Collaborate with developers, the CTO, and ecosystem teams to organize work plans.
- Tracking and reporting of all activity for open source development and releases.
- Identifying ways to automate and improve efficiency, quality, and security.
- People management for multiple distributed teams of developers.
- Hiring.
You have
- 7+ years of experience in software development.
- 3+ years of experience as a software development management or lead.
- 2+ years of experience working on a Web3 development team.
- Technical knowledge of Ethereum and one or more smart contract programming languages (Solidity, Rust, Cairo, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills in a collaborative and remote team environment.
Location
- All positions at OpenZeppelin are 100% remote, however you should be located between UTC-8 and UTC+3 to be considered for this position.

- Experience contributing to open source projects.
